Payment

PayPal is our preferred method of payment.  With PayPal you enjoy all of the speed and security of an instant transaction without a credit card. By logging in to PayPal, you can also pay with any credit card without establishing a PayPal account.
 

Ordering One Item

One item or Package Deals are shipped in 1 box. Charges include postage, handling, & tracking. Call if you want your parcel insured, or with overnight delivery.

Ordering Multiple Items

When ordering multiple items, we may be able to ship them in one parcel at a lower postage rate. But please understand that not all items can be combined (too big, too heavy, too high risk of damage). We try to provide cost-effective shipping methods. Most products are sent ‘Priority Mail’ at a fixed rate. Books are sent by ‘media mail’. For your protection, signature tracking is added to shipping charges for Timepiece purchases over $199.
 
We do not approve of inflating shipping costs. Therefore, if shipping charges appear to be noticeably higher when checking out, we will credit your PayPal account the difference between ‘actual charges’ and what you paid, less packing and handling costs. This transaction will appear within 24 hours.

Shipping

Unless you obtain prior approval, parcels are dispatched only within the Continental US. Do provide a street address as most shipments require a signature to release the parcel. Your item(s) will be mailed via the USPS within 2 business days upon receipt of payment. Call for special requests such as over-night shipping and insurance.
 
Once a package is at the USPS, the Magician’s Cottage has no control over it. Issues with shipments need to be initiated by the buyer to the USPS. We can help by providing tracking number, & postal receipt.

Your Option to Download Timepiece/Accessory Instructions

Our preferred method of distributing instructions for timepiece products & accessories is by having you download them to your device once your order has been accepted. At that time We will email you a ‘passcode’ to download the PDF files you need from our Website “Instructions Link”.
 
It’s fast and easy to do. Unless you state otherwise under ‘Order Notes’ upon checking out, we will not ship a printed copy with the merchandise. There are many benefits downloading instructions electronically:

1. Instructions can be viewed at any time using a variety of electronic devices.
2. Virtually all our instructions have many photographs and images in vivid color. This provides additional clarity thus making learning faster and easier.
3. You will be able to review these instructions before your product(s) arrive. This gives you an excellent opportunity to become familiar with the effect, modus operandi, patter, and handling techniques.
4. You can print these instructions when needed, where needed for personal use if the original is lost, damaged or destroyed.
5. If we make a significant update to any set of instructions, we will attempt to reach out to you and send you the latest PDF file.
6. You may even pay less in shipping charges as paper adds weight to a parcel.
7. Many Timepieces and Accessories have detailed instructions of 2 or more pages. When packaged, it is likely these black/white pages will arrive wrinkled and/or folded. Having a PDF file avoids that from happening.

If you decide you want a black/white printed copy rather than PDF color file(s), we will include them in the same parcel containing your product(s). However, by doing so, you waive your right to receive these instructions in PDF format in the future.

Returns & Refunds – Timepieces & Package Deals

The Magicians Cottage wants everyone to have an exciting and enjoyable shopping experience and to be 100% delighted with the purchase of our timepiece products. If you find that a Timepiece (and related accessories) is not a good fit for you, you may return this merchandise for a refund.
 
Simply call and let us know within 5 days of receipt. We’ll provide you with an RMA number that authorizes the return. Then return the product(s) back to us in the same condition as you received them & in their original packaging. When we get them, we’ll credit your PayPal account within 24 hours. The credit will be for the full purchase amount, less initial shipping and return shipping charges. Since most ‘Package Deals’ include several items specifically chosen by you during ‘check-out’, we are unable to ‘swap out’ or exchange one item for another.

Estate Magic Returns – 15% Restocking Fee

Virtually all of our estate magic is used and has had a presence in the marketplace for many years. Amateurs, professionals, and collectors should be quite familiar with these items. Some are rare and highly collectible; their secret (MO) is often unique and something we wish to keep under wraps. Magic in this category is well suited for professionals and collectors.
 
For these reasons, as well as PayPal/credit card fees and restocking costs, purchasers returning estate magic will be charged a 15% restocking fee based on the original purchase price. Before returning a product, CALL US FIRST within 10 days of receipt. Once we authorize the transaction, return the merchandise to us in the same condition as you received it and in its original packaging. When received, we’ll credit your PayPal account within 24 hours. The credit will be for 85% of the purchase price, less initial shipping and return shipping charges. For your protection, we encourage that the parcel be insured and that you use a courier requiring a signature confirmation upon delivery.

Defects — Typos — Product Descriptions

Our craftsmen are meticulous making your timepiece and accessories. Before mailing, everything is tested for flawless operation. In the rare instance your item appears to be faulty, or has a missing part, or appears to be broken, please call us within 10 days upon receipt. We’ll do our best to make things right.
 
We work hard to make descriptions accurate, but occasionally an error or typo might slip through the cracks. Some of the wristwatches photographed on our Site and also used in our Instructions and Videos may look somewhat different from the one you received. Our wristwatch styles may vary just slightly based on vendor inventory. We are careful, however, to ensure that the one you order is identical in function and in appearance as the one we identify, photograph, and describe on our Site at the time you place your order.
 
If you feel an item was grossly misrepresented, let us know. It is never our intention to mislead.
